David is a native New Yorker, who has been acting, fighting, and choreographing for fifteen years. In addition to founding and teaching at the En Garde Academy, our fight studio in the East village, he is currently a Stage Combat instructor on staff at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Fight performance at New York City Opera in Lincoln Center include The Capulets and the Montagues, Macbeth, Carmen and the New York Premier of Dead Man Walking.

New York City and Regional credits include Macbeth , Romeo and Juliet, Othello, Richard II, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Julius Caesar, Cymbeline, and Ceremony of Innocence. Fight Direction credits include Macbeth (New Perspectives Theatre, Castle Shakespeare Repertory, Harlem School of the Arts), Romeo and Juliet (CSR), Richard III w/Austin Pendleton, Othello, Julius Caesar (NPT), Hamlet (Gemini Theatrical Productions, CSR, School of Practical Philosophy), The Red Rose (The Mint Theatre), Merlin Redux (New York Dramatists Guild), Brave Brood (Present Company Theatre), Henry V (La MaMa), Mourning and The Three Sisters (Columbia University), Gloria ( World Premiere with The Lady Cavaliers), the OOBR award winning productions of The Winter’s Tale and Jihad.

Co-Founder & Artistic Director

Alexandra has been working in New York City as a director, producer, and performer since 1994. A member of the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab, her Directing and A.D. credits range from Off-Off-Off Broadway to Broadway (including the Roundabout Theater Company, National Actor’s Theatre, and Playwright’s Horizons). Most recently her direction has been seen at the New York Renaissance Faire (Taming of the Shrew), at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater/ Sam French Festival (American Royale), and at the Teatro Circulo (En Garde Fight Showcase). She is currently the AD on Ibsen's "Rosmersholm" for the Pearl Theater at NY City Center.

As a performer, Alexandra was most recently seen at Lincoln Center this fall as Fanny in Intermezzo for New York City Opera. Outside of the En Garde Academy, teaching credits include for STI (Julliard & Columbia), for Rutgers Summer Acting Conservatory, for and as a guest lecturer at UCONN, UMASS, and Hampshire College. She co-founded En Garde Entertainment as a way to merge her passions for directing and stage combat and mostly to create performance opportunities for fighters in NYC.
